Leaving a Legacy
Including a legacy in your will is a simple and meaningful way to make a lasting difference. Any funds we receive from legacies are treated sensitively and professionally and used in line with our charitable objectives.
- If you already have a will: Speak with your solicitor about your wishes. They can either add a codicil (an amendment to your existing will) or, if more appropriate, prepare a new will for you. It is also recommended that you review your will every few years, as personal circumstances and priorities may change.
- If you don’t yet have a will: Now is a good time to make one. As part of that process, you can easily include your legacy intentions.
Remember, your legacy is entirely your choice, and you can amend or update it at any time. If you decide to make changes, simply consult your solicitor, who will advise on the best way to update your will.
You are under no obligation to tell us about your legacy. However, if you choose to, it helps us plan for the future and gives us the chance to thank you for your generosity. We can be contacted at info@nationalspitfireproject.org
In Memory Donation
Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to honour their life while supporting the vision of the National Spitfire Project.
Families and friends may wish to make a one-off gift, request donations in place of flowers at a funeral, or set up a lasting tribute fund. Every contribution helps us to build the Spitfire monument and to deliver inspiring educational programmes for generations to come.

Carbon Art Sculpture Initiative
The National Spitfire Project has partnered with Carbon Art to commission an exclusive collection of carbon fibre Supermarine Spitfire MKV sculptures. You can watch the video explaining how the artist, Alastair Gibson conceived this project here.
The sculptures can be purchased through Carbon Art here. For each sculpture sold, £1000 will be donated to the National Spitfire Project. The UK Government has pledged to match fund this amount, making the total donation from each purchase an impressive £2000.

OUR SUPPORTERS
The Government has agreed to provide up to £3 million in match-funding to support the construction of the Monument. This means that for every £1 donated the Government matches this with another £1, doubling the impact of the donation.
The management of this funding is handled by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust where the funds are ring fenced. The grant is paid to NSP in instalments with evidence of receipt of match funding being provided to the AFCFT by NSP. The NSP Trustees are immensely grateful to His Majesty’s Government for this transformational support.

Fundraising Ideas and Campaigns
Just like the communities that funded the original Spitfire during the Second World War you can help bring history to life. Every donation you raise for the National Spitfire Project will be match funded by the Government.

1. Spitfire-Themed Pub Quiz Nights
Second World War, aviation, or general trivia quizzes hosted at local pubs, with entry fees donated. Here is a suggested 20 question quiz to get you started.
2. Model Plane Competitions
Kids and adults build paper or balsa wood planes. Charge entry fees; winners get Spitfire-themed prizes.
3. Raffles & Tombolas
Local businesses donate vouchers, bottles of wine, or small prizes. Easy to run at social clubs or workplaces. Our Trustee, Paul Beaver is happy to assist with a signed copy of his book where he can.
4. Themed Social Evenings
A 1940s night with music, costumes, and dancing—small ticket price goes towards NSP.
5. “Wings of Courage” Obstacle Course / Run
A themed 5K or obstacle course representing a pilot’s journey. Encourage participants to fundraise individually for NSP. The link to our ideas for the obstacle course is here
6. Sponsored Challenges for Adults
Walking, cycling, running, or even “give up alcohol/smoking for a month” challenges sponsored by friends.
7. Bring-and-Buy Sale / Car Boot Fundraiser
Neighbours donate unwanted items; proceeds go to the project.
8. Craft Beer or Wine Tasting Night
Partner with local breweries/wineries—entry fees include tastings, with part donated.
9. Community History Talk or Film Screening
Invite a local historian, author, or speaker for a ticketed evening; or show a wartime film in a community space. NSP can help you find a speaker for your event.
10. Spitfire Storytelling Night
Invite veterans, enthusiasts or historians to share aviation stories.
Charge entry and offer refreshments themed as “RAF rations.”
